Biking Advantages

Like Leadville, Costa Rican bikers have the advantage because they know the climate. In Leadville, the altitude is CRAZY! People from New York, and Flordia have problems with altitude. I defiantly agree with Nancy about the advantages of the climate.

Making Connections (TTS)

I am having a text to self connection right now. Nancy's friend, George, is competing in a bike race. This reminds me of when my dad did "The Leadvill 100" in Leadvill this summer. Like Nancy and Bess, I was his support team. We had to give him water, food, gel, and most of all, encouragement. This book is a very good book, and I find that my inner voice speaks to me a bit more than other books... this must mean that I really like the book.

Super Picky!

For some reason, I am very picky about what books I read. I like the genres relistic fiction And mystery. I have started a new book called Hope was Here. This book is realistic fiction so I might like it.

Meeting her dead brother

O my Gosh!!!!! Is Maxine really going to go meet her so called dead brother????? My inner voice tells me that's not a good idea... But let's see how it goes.....
Ah ha! Maxine's so called brother is not actually her brother! It's... it's...... Oh no!!! The statue fell over!! Where did he go?? O my!! Maxine found Dedrek's neaclace in the church.... That say to me that Maxine's so called brother was another kid that looked like him, and they just changed clothes, including the necklace! He must have dropped it on his way out.... This book is pretty scary.... I need a book a bout the Christmas season!

There are no such things as Ghosts!!

There are no such things as ghosts... there are no such things as ghosts! Maxine wants to belive that the phone call from her dead brother was just a "cruel trick" and not a ghost. But how would the caller know to call her Maxie??? Only her bother calls her that. I think it would be smart to tell someone that you got a phone call from dead dead brother, that's why she is going to her dad. I think I would go to my dad first too, because my mother would FREAK out! Just trying to protect your mom from not telling her is a good idea. I think I am a lot like Maxine.

How...Why...What?

Could this really be happening????? My inner voice is asking "But How?". I think the one who called Maxine was really Derek's killer. I think this because in the book, it says that Maxine said the voice was a bit lower than her brother's actual voice. But then she said that she didn't even remember his voice. How creepy it would be to get a phone call from your dead brother! My inner voice is exploding, but I cannot jump to conclusions just yet. I need to keep reading and find out who actully called Maxine.

Derek, Derek, Derek!

Why is Maxine happy about her brother's death? I think that's because she wants more attention, because her parents are always talking about Derek, Derek, Derek, and only Derek. Now that her bother is dead, she thinks she will get more attention, my prediction is that she will not get more attention because they just will just remember Derek's death, and bring it up in every conversation, while Maxine's name isn't mentioned just  once.

Clunking

Maxine calls her mom "mum", so I am wondering if this story takes place in England.

Ah Ha! In the book, the dad says that the police found Derek's body in London! That answers my clunk!

Beating the "Mighty Zola"

I can already tell That Maxine is really into games. She must be really talented to get 1,800 points! I wonder what caused the machine to stop unexpectedly. I think the arcade is probably old, so the games are a bit shabby.
