BAD Times... BIG Crimes

I finished this book over spring break, but I forgot to blog about it. So, anyway, the bad guy, (forget his name) took the Smith's house. Nancy invited them to live with her and her dad. Nancy soon got them their house back when she dressed up like a man, and gambled at a local casino. Nancy also got Ms.Biggs back to teaching for the kids. Basicly, it was a happy ending. Continuing my Reading Expidition

I am going to try to read a LOT this summer so I can increase my reading level. Going to the library, finishing reading all of my own personal books, and just doing fun stuff with reading!! I need a list of good books. There are SO many books at the library, so I need to get a recommended list. I am so excited for summer! I'll keep blogging my innner voice this summer.

Nancy Drew: Girl Dective

Nancy Drew. She's smart, and good at solving mysteries. I LOVE all of Carolyn keene's books. They are my favorite. I have a whole series of them, so I get to READ A LOT!!!!

Long Trem Connections

I am making a large, longterm (big picture) connection. See, I am reading a book about the great depression. IN The Despresion people are starving, poor, being evicted from their homes, and are depressed (the greet DEPRESSION) and I am REALLY connecting to the Irish Potato Famine. I mean poele WANT work. They want to get/give something to their families. I can never NOT be pleased with Nancy Drew. I mean she is nasicly LEGANDARY.

Switched out

Well, by the 3rd chapter, I was relly creeped out, so I switched my books ( I know, I know that's really bad). Now I am reading Nancy drew bad times big crimes. "I had hurried out of the building and ran to the first news stand I could find. Reading the front page I almost fainted. According to the paper the year was 1930. I pinched myself to see if I was dreaming. Nope. No dream.this was real." Well I don't see how this is a crime, but of course Nancy drew will always find a mystery. Anywhere. Even if it's in the year 1930. How is she going to find her way out if this one???? Good luck Nancy. Good luck.

Nancy Drew is in For A Wild Ride this Time!

You know how on the very very first page of a Nancy Drew book is the crime, even before the title page? "The Mystery of the Jade Tiger" wow. sound kinda lame, but REALLY REALLY GOOD. "Amy is holding the jade tiger," the voice continued. "And she is going to give it to me right now. Because if she doesn't, that'll be the end of Nancy Drew." see what I mean by intense? well threats to kill or not, these books are some of the greatest books in the world. BEST BOOKS EVER!!!!!

A Good Mystery Book

Nancy Drew is definatly LEGANDARY. SHE IS AMAZING. She is so old, I think she has been around longer than my grandma. (and my grammie is OLD) When I think of Nancy Drew books, I think of Thriller. On the edge of my seat sweating. (well that's a little over exadgerated.) That's why you need to settle in with a good mystery book every once in a while. THAT'S WHY I am ready 'Nancy Drew and the Mystery of the Jade Tiger' I am excited.

Soul surfer

Wow. This is probably the best book I have ever read in my life..... Her story is inspiring, and very interesting. I have also sen the movie, but the book was better.... ( just like always, like winne Dixie.) Belive it or not, I started The book and I am almost done with it. I am atleast 7/8th of the way done!!!! I am excited to hear the rest of her story!!

Borring Books VS. Exciting Books

Elsewhere is kind of getting on my nerve. It was great until NOW. I think the author is trying to make this story a love story, but it's getting annoying. All it's about is Liz and Owen. EVERYTHING. Who is Liz falling in love with? Who taught Liz how to drive? Who caught her trying to made contact with world? Who adopted a dog from Liz??

Connections in the Back of My Mind

For some reason, I am making a lot of connections while reading this book. I am not dead, NOT in elsewhere, and CERTAINLY NOT in love. One of the things I am connecting to is the three point turns, and parallel parking. I am not a permit driver, but my sister is. She is an OK driver. Curiously, Liz is learning the same my sister is. I'm also connecting with Liz because her middle name is Marie, and so is mine! When Liz is at Thanksgiving at Betty's house, it is obviously crowded. My Thanksgiving dinners are the same. 2 rooms, 4 tables, 27 people, and a whole lot of laughs...

On the edge of my seat

Every page a read, I am on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. My predictions are all over the place. One minute I am thinking this then the next minute, I am thinking that. This time I have really thought over my predictions and I have predicted that Liz and Owen are GOING to fall in love. The author has already clued their reader in this point of the story. Some clues I hear while reading are:
-That Liz had invited Owen to Thanksgiving at her and grandma Betty's house
-They were washing dishes together at the end of dinner
-Liz is practically thinking about Owen all the time
-It THINK Owen is thinking about Liz.... (?)

Why do 2 people fall in love? It's a mystery.

Every new page in the chapter 'Mystery' it says, "Why do 2 people fall in love? I's a mystery." I think the author is hinting to the reader that Owen and Liz are falling in LOVE..... I will let you know any more predictions I have upon reading on, and I will tell you if they really DO end up falling in Love........?? I think it is evry nice how Owen adopted a dog....

Dogs, Liz, and her FANTASTIC JOB...

From reading on, I now that dogs DO make it to Elsewhere. I know that because the place where Liz works is full of Animals, and dogs. I also know that cats make it because Owen was tring to put out a fire, and he died, and so did a cat in the same accident. The next day, he was on the boat to Elsewhere with a cat sleeping on his feet. Also, because Liz has a new god herself named Sadie.

Elesewhere? Where else?

I am really liking the book elsewhere, but I have some questions. 1. Why do the else where people age BACKWARDS?? 2. Elsewhere? Where else? I think that it is good that everyone has the chance to have another life on earth. 3. But will you always come back to else where? 4. Will you even remember the boat and the place? 5. There would probably be a pledge to keep it a secret about the boat, and elsewhere. Won't there? I am really, really, REALLY intrested in this book because I have never thought about a boat taking you to a land where you aged backwards then you are sent down a river back to earth. I had always thought about going to heaven, but could this really happen?? It could, but I don't know. It is sad, freaky, and just plain SCARY that you get to see your funeral, and see the earth once you are dead. Also, that you even have THOUGHTS when you are dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. 6. I wonder if dogs take the boat to Elsewhere....?? Many, many, MANY questions that I have! But a good book! (NOT AS GOOD AS GEMINI SUMMER, THOUGH). Lit circle book??

I just finished my book, (Gemini Summer) and I am wondering should I just stick win my lit circle book?? I mean I have read 2 books at a time, but I think I should just stick to one book.....

Great book!!

Wow. So I finished the book. I didn't think that the tragedy would be Beau ding though. To be honest I didn't know what the tragedy would actually BE. Greatest. Book. Ever. On a scale from 1 to 100, this book would defiantly a 99.999999, because no one is perfect. I wonder....... Are there any other books by Iain Lawrence??? I need another good book....

Gemini Summer

Well, I haven't blogged in a while. I have finished 2 books already! I am reading Gemini Summer. It is becoming my favorite book. But, it is really confusing. First, I am wonder WHY IS THE OLD MAN DIGGING THE 'HIDEOUT SHELTER'?? I know he is digging it because of the Vietnam War but really why? also, WHY IS BEAU IN JAIL?? (DD, please don't ruin it for me) but, I think Beau is in Jail because he is going to Cape, and the police is wondering where he lives, and even if he has a home. Also, he didn't answer the police as of where he lived, so he was "dis respecting the police man", so he went to jail, or he commited a crime. Either way, I know he is going to cape, and he is in the FUTURE (but really the present for him). I also know that he is going to cape because he wants to see the 'Gemini Summer' launch, but I thought that the River family was going on a vacation there. Maybe, since it's the future, they made a different desision in present time, to go somewhere else on vacation. I think it was so so so so so so so sad that Danny lost the dog name tag, (billy Bear) but I think it was funny/bad that they poured the dump in Creepy's car. Man Creepy IS MEAN!!! But I feel bad for Danny that Beau is Betraying him because he is all to busy with his stuff after school. But in the fort they built, Beau said he will be with Danny forever. I am predicting that since Beau is in jail in the future, HE WILL BETRAY DANNY. The Old man is acting pretty suspisious, though. Will he ever give up on that fall out shelter??? Gee!!! I wonder if they will actually use that. I predict YES. Man this book makes me have A LOT OF INNNER VOICES!!!!!

Friends turn into sisters

Your not my friend, your more than that. Your my sister." this is really a golden line for me... It is what I really am experiences soon, both of my sisters will go to collage, and I will have noone... That's why my friends will become sisters...

SSRing is really hard fro me...

SSRing is really hard for me because I can't just sit down with a book and start reading. I need some one to recommend a good book for me. I like SHORT BOOKS WITH A BIG CLIMAX.

Romance???

When I picked up the book Eggs, it had no summary. Just by from the title; and first page I was guessin that it was about eggs. But by the chapter 9, things have just gotten started. At the library read aloud, he saw a girl, and the he screamed??? What ?? I don't get it.

Rowing Tamatos

I connect with the main character because she grows tomatoes. In the summer, I always buy a tamato plant and grow homemade Tamatos. At the end of the summer, we make a big lunch, and take it on a picnic.

I predict that sundra isgoing to sneak out of the house tonight to go watch the football game to see the boy she really really likes.

How would they know?

???? How??? Even though Ed and Harriet are really acting creepy, I have to say, they are really good at navigating where Nancy, Bess, and Goerge are. But how?? How do they know? How do they know where they are?? Do they have a super sonic navigation system? If they do, is a micro chip attached to nancy? If there is a mico chip, how did they attach it???? On the train?

Who they really are...

I gunk that Ed and Harriet are only asking the girls questions to see if they can trust them. From reading the front page,(the crime) I know they have a secret. I predict that they will tell nancy, and her friends who they really are… stalkers.

Stalkers

Boy, Ed is really acting creepy!!!!!¡ He followed the girls all the way to get tickets for the boat ride!!!!!!! And that fortune cookie came just in time to show that the girls  need to RUN.

SPA DAY!!!!

Spa. Ahhhhh. Sounds nice doesn't it??? Well not to Goerge, nancy's friends who is a HuGE Tom boy. Well I hope they all enduo having fun!!!

Connections

I connect with Mibs because when my dad fell racing in a ski accedint, my mom was gone at the hospital and a mean lady had to come and watch me And she made us have really gross food like the meatloaf Mibs had to eat, except that she made a weird soup with zuchinni and loaded and loaded and loaded with salt.

Nasty Meatloaf

The way the author describes the meatloaf in the book, sounds reaally grouse! "with it's big unfortunate wormy onions and a thin layer of hard ketchup squeezed on to the top. "

Mibs praying

If my daddy had gotten in a carcrash, I would pray for him every single moment I had free. But Mibs, NO! All she peace about is her savvy and her self conserns. She should probably start to pray for her father. I understnd that it would be very ectopic to know that you get a specail power in at last 24 but I hope she understands to pray for her Daddy.

Predicting

I really sorry if you cannot follow my thinking because I can't choose a book.

Just from looking at the front cover of the book Savvy I am starting to think Mib's  Savvy is to make sunshine out of a storm. I will find out what her savvy really is by the end of the book!

Re reading Helps

I really didn't understand the first 10 pages of the book because I read too fast. But I remember my drawing for the fix up strategies page from a long time ago. I remember "slow down and reread." so I did. I found that the clunk sheet really does help later on in life!!!!!! Thanks to my awesome teachers… reading harder text is easier… THANKS!:)

Flip Flopping Books

Today I forgot my book, so I have to start another book. I am tring to concentrate on one book but the book I picked up today, in replacement of my book that I left at home, is super good! I don't know which one I should contuning to read!!! But the reason that makes this book so good is that it is 1. Fantasy. I really really love fantasy books. They are my second favorite kind. My fist is realistic fiction. 2. This particular book is about magic. I really do immagine if we are called "mortals" or "muggles" one day science will find the Answer to it sometime. But for now, I must use my immagination.

Scott O'dell

Wow! I love the author's description in this book. His detailed work makes it easier to understand the book. Karana must be experiencing some very hard times. 15 men had just died in a 5 minute battle against the Aluets. It is really not fair that they didn't pay for the otter pels. The authors description of the otter just makes it even more sad of what the Alets are doing. I think that if Ghalas-st would have shared the "great fortune", then the Aluts may not
probably would not have killed the men or affairs the village.
